Useful apps on your phone – Bedtime

A good night’s sleep leaves us all feeling refreshed and motivated, but we just don’t head to bed at the right time.

However, your iPhone can now tell you when it’s time to go to bed – all you need to do is listen to it!

You may have spotted the ‘Bedtime’ feature when setting your alarms, but if you’re unsure where to find it:

  • Open the pre-installed ‘Clock’ app.
  • Select the ‘Bedtime’ option – it’s at the bottom of the screen.
  • Tap ‘Get Started’.
  • Select the time you want to wake up.
  • Choose the days you want to wake up at that time.
  • Select the number of hours of sleep you need each night – the recommended amount is between seven and eight.
  • Choose what time you’d like to be reminded it’s nearly bedtime. If you find it difficult to get to sleep, it may be worth setting it ahead of time to begin your bedtime routine.
  • Choose your alarm tone.
  • Save your settings.

Once it’s all set up, you’ll see a bar where you can easily adjust your sleep and wake up times. If you change it, the app instantly updates the amount of sleep you’ll be getting.

Not only will the app track how much sleep you’ve had, but it also knows when you’re active on your phone. So, you can’t cheat and scroll on your Instagram feed!

Reflectly

Does your brain sometimes go into overdrive? Reflectly is the world’s first intelligent journal which can take your thoughts and feelings on board and help you reflect on them.

For example, you can rate a personal experience, say what made it good/bad and add in any extra details on the experience. It can also ask about any anxiety you may be feeling in your life.

The more you use it, the more the app becomes personalised for you as it learns about your thoughts and feelings.
